Released From "Digital Jail"

Carriers in the U.S. are legally obligated to unlock your phone
Android Authority / Jonathan Feist / 4 hours ago

Inquisitr
Do you remember when it was illegal to unlock your cell phone in the United States? Don’t worry, those days are behind us now. Effective immediately, all U.S. carriers mustunlock customers’ phones or tablets upon request, with a few small caveats.
Back in 2013, the FCC came to an agreement with carriers that by February 11, 2015, all provisions of said agreement should be met, following the previous three out of six provision requirement that landed May 11, 2014. With the agreement in full effect, your carrier must abide to the following terms:
Postpaid Unlocking Policy. Carriers, upon request, will unlock mobile wireless devices or provide the necessary information to unlock their devices for their customers and former customers in good standing and individual owners of eligible devices after the fulfillment of the applicable postpaid service contract, device financing plan, or payment of applicable early termination fee.
Prepaid Unlocking Policy. Carriers, upon request, will unlock prepaid mobile wireless devices no later than one year after initial activation, consistent with reasonable time, payment or usage requirements.
But wait, there’s more. You will now be able to find unlocking policies on your carrier’s website, they will be getting back to you within 2 business days for unlocking requests, they will even inform you when your device is eligible to be unlocked to take to another carrier, should you so choose.
Best of all, deployed military personnel need not be strapped down, your carrier should unlock your device, almost no questions asked.

Let me say again, however, your carrier must determine that your account is in good standing, you have completed your contract, device payment plan and/or have paid any applicable early termination fees. Failure to meet any of these conditions could result in a refusal to unlock your device, so be careful.
Finally, this new policy does not actually require the carrier to unlock your device for you, but simply to allow your device to be unlocked. They will provide instructions, at the very least, but you may end up having to push the buttons for yourself. I assure you, from my own experience, this can be nerve wracking, especially if they provide you with multiple potential unlock codes, but only limited unlock attempts before it bricks your device.
For all the details, head over to the CTIA Wireless Association’s Consumer Code page.
Do you have a qualifying phone you’ve been dying to take to a new carrier?

SIN-fully Refocused

SIN CITY BABY !

About 2.5 years ago while living in my home state and working the night shift at a Hospital (I greatly miss it too)...  I was considering moving to "Sin City".  OK, That's a lie...  I wasn't just thinking about it, I was preparing and dead set on it !  However..., due to my deep family values, roots and kids...  I opted to come back to "Flori-DAH", only because it is more "Family Oriented".  Well to be 100% honest...  I have been regretting that bad decision every since I returned to this low wage, narrow and close minded state.  Flori-dah, is DEFINITELY NOT for a Hot Fox like me...!  Check out what I actually passed up (For others) :

YUP...!  I actually passed up, all of that and so much more, for a boring life here in the State of Flori-DAH, just solely for the sake of pleasing others !  You know the old saying goes...  Usually, your first instinct is "ALWAYS" the correct one.  Well, I just wish I would have listened.  The people here are prehistoric, close minded, uneducated, boring and don't even speak American English.  That Pisses me off BEYOND REASON.  I don't even want to get into the low wage, dead end jobs here with absolutely NO potential for advancement or anything else.

Of course it really is all my fault.  After all, I could have had a much better life and a lot more exciting one too.  I guess I just had to find out the hard way, right ?  Oh well, you live, you learn I guess.  One thing is for sure, as my kids quickly continue to grow up, I myself am getting more of my personal freedom back.  All I can say openly here is that I learned some EXTREMELY hard lessons in 2014.

Now here in 2015, I don't plan to make any more mistakes, nor do I want to continue putting my own life and my own dreams on hold for others.  It's just NOT fair to me and I refuse to keep putting myself last when I promised myself to start putting myself FIRST, from now on.  I have lived here on the East Coast all of my life and I have gotten absolutely NO WHERE fast here.  It's now a new year and I am building new ground...

TIME FOR CHANGE !
